Review: Essence Sun Club Bronzing Powder

Haul #3 from the Essence Warehouse sale!

Bronzing Powder! I bought one because I wanted a highlighter to highlight my nose bridge, and this can double up as one to make my nose bridge appear higher! (Ang mo nose anybody?)

So this is how it looks like...

And this is how I plan to use it!

First, start with a clean face...

Then apply number 5 on the nose bridge! Blend on the nose bridge only, if not it will just make your nose look bigger, which I'm sure none of us wants. This step will make your nose bridge look higher.

Then apply number 3 at the corners of the nose, and blend upwards, to the sides of the nose bridge. This will make your nose look smaller. (Small and sharp nose!!! <3 )

And then if you want a smaller face, you can either apply number 1 or 4 on the perimeter of the face with your natural hair line! Don't do this step with the shape of your fringe if not it'll just look weird. :/ Remember to blend it up! If not it will make you look weird. :/

End product!

Anyways, alternatively, you can just blend numbers 1-5 together using a kabuki brush and apply like a blush to give you a golden complexion I guess... But I'm not too into this tanned look cos I think I look tanned enough even without this bronzer. XD

Quite satisfied with its intended purpose and I think it blends well on me. So I think I quite like it. :) I don't really like the shininess though. But luckily, it is not so obvious. :)

Review: Essence Ballerina Backstage nail polish

Haul #2 from the warehouse sale - Ballerina Backstage nail polish!

I really really think the packaging is so pretty! The cap even has lace prints on it! Really quite good for such cheap nail polishes! Oh, and this colour really made me think of ballerinas doing pirouette practices backstage before performances! Hmm, not sure why, but might be because of the leotard colour which is often pink, like this polish colour which I got.

Anyway, I digress... I got a pale pink colour from this collection, and I love it! (So does my mom cos she loves natural colours)

This is with one coat on...

And this is with 2-3 coats on.

One coat is definitely too sheer, and the natural colour of the nail can be seen. But with more coats, nail is opaque and I quite like that we can control the intensity quite well. :) Similar to the silver marble mania polish though, streaks can be seen (as in the picture with one coat on) if we're not careful... Or maybe I'm just not skilled enough. But no more streaks if more coats are applied! So I guess it doesn't really matter since no one is going out with 1 coat of this only!

Mini Pre-Christmas Celebration~

A little pre-Christmas celebration last evening at my maternal grandma's house cos I got a Crystal Jade Log Cake which looks like this!

I think it really looks quite pretty!

Besides the log cake, which I was looking most forward to (I love the rich and smooth chocolate log cake), we had another of my favourite food! The Pu Tien pa mee! I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee it. The soup was just so tasty. Yum. There were la la and prawn in the soup but I gave them to the boyfriend since I don't take them. :/ But the pa mee was damn nice.

Anyway, my aunt said my face grew rounder. :( Although she said I looked better now, I still feel quite horrified. :( Must be the fast food meals I've been having and me not exercising. :(! But fast food is just so convenient, and normal food in food courts are just so meh, and I won't know what to eat! Maybe should stay home more often and eat mom's bland but healthy and I won't need to think about what to eat!

Oh no, fat alr. :( Serves me right for laughing at my quite-fit-looking boyfriend for being fat, and having a round face. :(

Essence Warehouse Sale Haul!!!

My haul!!! I bought a total of 4 items, and I gave one of it away, so no reviews for that!

The one I gave away is a bright pink nail polish and I think it is mighty cool though I don't think I would dare to use such a bold colour. My friend had wanted a bright pink nail polish, so I got that nail polish for her even though I had not tried Essence's nail polish, but I feel mighty confident in the quality of the nail polish. :)

Anyway, from left to right! Natural pink colour from the Ballerina Backstage Collection, Silver from Marble Mania Collection, and Sun Club Bronzing Powder for Brunettes which I will explain how I intend to use as a highlighting powder instead in the next few posts!

When I was there I wanted to get a glittery brown nail polish from the Snow white collection, but the boyfriend said it will look weird, so I didn't get it. :( I also wanted to get the taupe nail polishes from the regular collection, but it only sold in bulk of 5, so I didn't get it either. :(

My favourite item is the silver nail polish from marble mania! Mainly because it makes pretty snowflakes on deco cards as well as it is perfect for the Christmas season! :)

Review: Essence Silver "marble mania" nail polish~

Remember I talked about getting the innovative use of the silver marble mania nail polish from Essence Cosmetics warehouse sale yesterday? Today is the review on the colour on nails!

So this is how it looks like in a bottle... Really shiny and reflective... (Like mirrors of yore haha)

And this is how it looks like on a plastic nail.

Pretty opaque for 1 to 2 coats. I really like the colour!!!! (Perfect for Christmas) Only gripe with it is that if you're not careful with applying it, or not skilled enough, you might create some streaks. But methinks it isn't too much of a problem. :)

Innovative use of Essence Silver Marble mania nail polish~

I went to the essence warehouse sale a couple of weeks back...

Essence is basically a cheap (and good) European cosmetic brand, very much like the "AC" brand in Japan. (I got a flower blush from AC from another warehouse sale but that's for another post). I bought 3 nail polishes - a nude pink from the ballerina collection, a silver from the marble mania collection and a bright pink!

Besides using them as what they are supposed to be used for (you can read rave reviews of essence's products from many other blogs so I shall not start on that for this post), I've used the silver nail polish for a different purpose - decorating Christmas cards! Let the picture (singular) do the talking!

Innovative right! I used a pencil that I don't want anymore to draw the snowflakes. Being the non artistic person I am, I'm actually quite proud of myself for thinking of using nail polish as a silver pen and actually drew the snowflakes quite well. At least, by my standards. XD

A pat on the back for me please! So, next time you know that essence's nail polishes can double up as a deco-pen! :D
